Job Description:
  1. Sets up and operates blow molding machine to mold plastic products according to specifications: Turns valves to start flow of water and release air pressure to machine.
  2. Moves machine controls to set timing unit and temperature of heating unit and start automatic feed mechanism.
  3. Adjusts machine mandrel and aligns mandrel with mold chamber, using wrenches.
  4. Starts molding machine that automatically feeds material from mixing unit to mandrel and to mold chamber.
  5. Closes chamber to mold product under heat and pressure.
  6. Removes workpiece from mold after timing device opens mold, and trims excess material from workpiece, using knife or bandsaw.
  7. Regrinds excess material and unsatisfactory workpiece for reuse, using grinding machine.
  8. May weigh completed workpiece to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Duties: A blow moulding operator sets up one or more machines, observes their operation, ensures the manufactured products meet specifications, makes adjustments as necessary and tears down the equipment. He removes finished products from the molds and may trim excess plastic from parts. Some operators perform minor or routine maintenance and repairs.

Skills: Effective blow moulding operators can troubleshoot problems and perform simple repairs. They know how to use correct tools. Operators must also demonstrate monitoring skills, using visual observation of gages and listening to mechanical sounds to make sure the equipment is working properly. According to the Occupational Information Network, a good blow moulding operator also needs manual dexterity and strength to lift, pull, push and carry objects.

  • Performs changeovers by referring to shop order instructions for each label run.
  • Enters required product code information into video jet system to print on label as needed.
  • Performs quality checks at required intervals throughout shift (i.e., correct product, label, label application, and case/tray print).
  • Retains label from each bundle and records label number(s) in order run for QA purposes.
  • Completes required paperwork throughout shift.
  • Performs routine equipment maintenance (i.e., adding oil, changing belts, label knives) by following CIL guidelines.

Quality Assurance/ Control Executive – Beverage Production Facility The QA Executive is responsible for the Quality Assurance Department and provides guidance for the manufacturing plant to ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with any Federal and system requirements. This position also serves as the Food Safety & HACCP Coordinator and supports all processes to ensure that the product is manufactured within guidelines required by ISO standards.
